Alectryon excelsus

Rounded, sub-canopy tree, 10+m tall. Dark, roughened bark. Glossy, bright green leaves, with several pairs of leaflets along the main rib. Small, red flowers in clusters. Fleshy red fruit in a brown capsule, contain a glossy black seed. Dispersed by birds. Likes moist, alluvial soil. Semi-shade to full sun. Good for riparian planting.
