Woody, high-climbing vine. Leaves are made up of three glossy oval leaflets. White star-shaped flowers in spring. Plants have either male or female flowers. Seed heads are fluffy. Prefers damp soil, with roots in the shade but where it can grow and climb up into sun. Attracts bees and butterflies.
