Meet at Kaipātiki Project, 17 Lauderdale Road, Birkdale
Event details
Come together and acknowledge a special public holiday – Matariki; a time of reflection, honoring our ancestors, and preparing for the upcoming year.
We will be seeing in the Māori new year with a Matariki Planting Day at Eskdale Reserve. This experience is all about connecting with community, friends and whanau while connecting with our ngahere, as we plant up native ecosystems.
Kaipātiki Project has been restoring and preserving the Eskdale Reserve since 1998. In addition to restoration planting, regular pest control and weeding activities, we are working with kākahi/freshwater mussels, titiwai/glowworms and pekapeka/bats. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our mahi at Eskdale Reserve.
Bring along your gloves (if you have), water bottle, and closed-toe footwear. We will be following all appropriate Health & Safety measures to ensure everyone’s safety.
Thank you for all your help and we look forward to seeing you.
