Join us in learning te ao Māori approach to restoration!

Hands On Ecology workshop series is designed for community restoration groups and anyone keen to learn about restoration ecology through a te ao Māori lens. A 3-hour session offers practical skills for restoring private and public spaces, and may include up to 2 hours of walking—please dress appropriately and bring water/snacks.

This session covers:

Whenua and the significance of Kaipātiki e.g. Kauri podzols
Site identification – recognising what defines the changes in ecology types across a defined site
Threatened and endangered ecosystems – taonga species
Kauri whānau
Leaf litter and ground dwellers
Plant identification – carnivorous plants

If you’re part of a restoration or reserve group, please include the group’s name in the Organisation section.
